Our History

In 1996, CEC began as a personal dream of Dr. Jun Juliano as he started his ophthalmology practice at Calamba Medical Center.

Calamba is his father’s hometown and the birthplace of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal (one of the first Filipino ophthalmologists trained in Europe).. Close to his heart, Dr Jose Juliano ( a renowned physicist and chemist), his father, joined later on his endeavor to pursue this dream – becoming a family dream.

The realization of Dr. Juliano’s dream proved not only ambitious but relevant to people in Calabarzon.

At the onset, it was simply a two-room eye center, with a consultation and a diagnostic room. Subsequent transfers in the hospital were done to accommodate the growing need of its facilities and services. At present, CEC focuses on developing cutting-edge innovations in ophthalmic care as it continually strives to be an essential aspect of the city of Calamba.
